In the two-year track Chemistry of Life of the Master's programme Chemistry, you will focus on aspects of chemistry related to living systems, such as the role of enzymes in organic chemistry, biomolecular simulations, and biotechnological approaches in industry.

This Master's track integrates the study of chemistry and biology, but at its core is still chemistry-focused. Courses cover how chemical knowledge can enrich biological studies, how biological techniques can be used in the production of molecules, and how biomolecules can be better understood with a firm chemical foundation. Integration of chemical and biological/biochemical knowledge is a highly sought after combination for which there is currently a great demand in the labour market.

Joint degree programme with VU Amsterdam
Chemistry of Life is a track in the Master's programme Chemistry, a joint degree programme of the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
