Transatlantic Studies examines the complex connections between the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean. You will learn to analyse the past and present of multilayered exchanges between North America and Europe, with regard to, for example, culture and politics.
In close collaboration with fellow students and staff, you will reflect on complex international interactions through themes such as global citizenship, democracy, cultural exchange and mobility, international affairs, freedom, equality, and diversity, all from a transatlantic perspective. The interdisciplinary approach will allow you to use and synthesise knowledge from a wide range of sources, such as digital collections, social media, policy documents, visual media, literature and popular culture. You will acquire intercultural skills to work in or with other cultures and societies.

Application requirements
In order to take part in the programme, you need to have fluency in English, both written and spoken. Requirements: a TOEFL score of ≥100 (internet based) and all subscores ≥22; an IELTS score of ≥7.0, subscores ≥ 6.5; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) or Cambridge C1 advanced or C2 Proficiency with a mark of C or higher.
You are admissible if you have a completed Bachelor's degree in the Humanities, Liberal Arts, International Relations, or a related area, with sufficient courses (30 EC) relevant to the programme.
