Join the Study in NL ambassador programme

Study in NL is the starting point for all international students who are considering the Netherlands as a study destination. We share information about studying in the Netherlands on our website, social media channels and during our online/offline events.

As a Study in NL ambassador, you inform (prospective) international students about studying in the Netherlands. You do this by sharing your experiences on social media (Instagram stories, posts, reels, answering DM's & YouTube vlogs) and on the Study in NL website (in blogs), as well as during webinars and other events/activities.

This year, we will recruit 20 active student ambassadors and we will also have a Study in NL community. As an active student ambassador, you will share your experiences on social media, the Study in NL website (in blogs), as well as during fairs, webinars and during other events/activities. If you are part of the community, you will be contacted for input regarding research, feedback, and participation in interviews and other requests from the organisation.

What is expected of you?

As an active Study in NL ambassador, you will:

• do an Instagram takeover (@StudyInNL - 32.4k followers) twice a year;
• write blogs for the Study in NL website, or help with social content creation;
• be in direct contact with prospective international students to answer their questions about studying in the Netherlands;
• help out with live or offline events organised by Nuffic or by Dutch higher education institutions;
• provide us with feedback and input on how to improve our communications and activities. This will be done through surveys and focus groups;
• attend the Study in NL ambassador training day on Friday 19 September.

How many hours do I spend on the ambassador programme?

This is completely up to you. For an Instagram takeover week, you may need to spend 1 to 2 hours per day on creating the content and answering the messages. In general, we would say you spend a minimum of 1 hour a month to a maximum of 20 hours a month on the Study in NL ambassador's programme. It is voluntary work, so you do not sign a contract and we cannot oblige you to anything. You can decide for yourself which events you attend and when you would like to do a takeover and write blogs. Every form of effort is appreciated!

What do I get in return for my efforts as an active ambassador?

As a Study in NL ambassador, you will get:

• training in the field of social/written content creation, and/or (international) career development;
• social events where you get to know the other ambassadors;
• an even bigger international network;
• relevant work experience;
• a certificate;
• a recommendation on LinkedIn, or a recommendation letter if required.
